After numerous delays, the PC port of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana has a release date of April 16, just next week.
The game originally released on PlayStation 4 and Vita, but was plagued with localization issues. The PC port was delayed to include the new translation, then delayed again when the porting studio realized that the game was not compatible with various hardware permutations on PC.
After the last delay, publisher NISA ended up offering refunds for preorders, a sign of the high level of frustration from fans eagerly anticipating the port.
The port features all the content of the PlayStation 4 version of the game and the new and improved translation in tow. The game is also launching on Switch in June. You can find our review of the PS4 version right here.
I might wait for the Switch version, depending on how that port works, but it’s good that a game a lot of people like is finally coming to more platforms.
