Announced at Blizzcon, the Overwatch map Blizzard World has been long awaited by fans. Thankfully, no one will have to wait long, as the map will see wide release on January 23.
The map is a Blizzard love letter, something warranted by a company that boasts fans happily obsessive enough to sustain an annual convention. The map is full of Blizzard’s history, both modern and ancient, and will be a delight for fans to explore. More than that, though, reports from the PTR are that the hybrid map is itself quite fun to play, and its Assault and Payload halves are both well balanced.
Jeff Kaplan recently outlined the team’s plans for the new year, including new maps and new heroes that are being internally tested right now, though there’s no word on when those might be revealed.
Overwatch is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
